Inviting applications for the role of Consultant - Linux Engineer L2
Responsibilities
Perform day-to-day administration and monitoring of Linux systems (Amazon Linux, RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) across different environments.
Respond to incidents, alerts, and service requests via ServiceNow within defined SLAs.
Apply regular OS patches and kernel upgrades using Ansible, Red Hat Satellite, or YUM-based automation workflows.
Perform routine user account management, file system maintenance, and log review.
Support deployment validation and configuration of new Linux VMs (on VMware and AWS).
Monitor system health through Splunk and AWS CloudWatch and respond to threshold-based alerts.
Coordinate with Cloud, Network, and DB teams for cross-platform issue resolution.
Maintain configuration and update baselines in Git repositories per change management process.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent work experience.
Good years of experience in Linux administration and patch management.
Hands-on with Amazon Linux, RHEL/CentOS systems, package management (YUM, DNF), and Ansible automation.
Basic understanding of ITIL process (Incident, Change, Problem).
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
Primary: Amazon Linux, RHEL 7/8/9, Ansible, Satellite, Splunk, ServiceNow, CrowdStrike, Tenable.
Secondary: AWS EC2 (Linux), ALB, Azure VM, JIRA, Git, Jenkins, Bash scripting, Working knowledge of Redis in containerized environments or as AWS ElastiCache.
Certifications: RHCSA / RHCE preferred.
