Job Description

:

• a. To provide comprehensive care to patients admitted under your care.
• b. Be responsible for diagnosis and treatment of all the patients admitted under your care and be available to examine and consult / advise on any particular case, if requested by a colleague.
• c. Visit all the patients admitted under your care and plan their line of treatment as per the clinical requirements and standards of medical care.
• d. Ensure that the team members and the nurses understand the line of treatment and implement the care of patient as per the treatment plan
• e. Ensure that the lapses in the implementation of treatment plan are reported appropriately and effectively
• f. Provide adequate time to the patient / surrogate decision makers while counseling about the disease process and the treatment plan.
• g. Ensure that the patient / surrogate decision maker has understood the treatment plan and there is agreement for the treatment planned.
• h. Ensure that the process of clinical diagnosis and further treatment is adequately documented and is transparent in nature.
• i. Adhere to the best standards of treatment while following a compassionate and affordable path of treatment.
• j. Provide the patient or the surrogate decision maker an approximate estimate of days and financial impact honestly and to the best of one's abilities.
• k. Invite or give reference to specialist of appropriate specialty as and when required.
• l. Refer the patient to another specialty if the clinical condition of the patient demands so.

• m. To help in developing and implementing the training programs for various activities like

• i. Fellowship and DNB programmes.
• ii. Training modules for medical and paramedical staff.
• iii. Ambulatory medical services" for patients.
• iv. Community interaction with family physicians and patients.
• v. Introduction to newer technology to upgrade services
• n. Be a part of the teaching faculty as and when required.
• o. Take responsibility of the apppropriate care and usage of all special equipment that are used by you and notify promptly to the Medical Administration in case of any deficiencies
• p. Enroll for medical research or publish suitable medical articles after prior approval.
• q. Be available for all emergency calls and operations, when required.
• r. Participate in accreditation process of the hospital
• s. Involve yourself in designing brochure, of your department.
• Any other professional and administrative duties delegated as and when required.
