Job Description


The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health. PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research in core public health themes. The Foundation, established in 2006 as a public private initiative, is governed by an independent board comprising of senior government officials, eminent Indian and International academic and leaders, civil society representatives and corporate leaders. Deliverables:

  • Management of the finance function and overseeing the institutional finance team.
  • Financial Monitoring with the available project budget and MIS.
  • Knowledge of working in PFMS, ERP Oracle and TALLY.
  • Responsible for timely payment processing through PFMS and also maintain the data in ERP.
  • Responsible for monthly reconciliation for the payments made through PFMS.
  • Workflow resolution between both the teams.
  • Timely preparation of quarterly finance report to be shared with the Funder.
  • Prepare and monitor budget forecasts for each project.
  • Prepare project cash flow and conduct regular fund analysis.
  • Monthly closure of all books of accounts.
  • Preparation of monthly financial reports and share with Grants Controller and Team Lead.
  • Preparation and monitoring of activity-based budgets, such as trainings, workshops, and meetings.
  • Liaison with project related employees, vendors, external agencies like statutory auditors, internal auditors, funding agencies for details, submissions and reconciliations.
  • Accounts reconciliations on advances, vendors, funding agencies.
  • Travel on need based basis to project sites for periodic monitoring and organizing training.
  • Maintenance of ERP based (Oracle) financial ledgers and accounting processes.
  • Work on both Project and AR module of ERP for managing grants in the system.
  • Preparation of Monthly Consolidated & segmental P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement
  • Timely production of statutory and internal financial reports and all legal compliances.
  • Achieve timely audits i.e. internal, external, grants audit, tax etc., on need based basis.
  • Timely Preparation, issuance, submission of various certificates and returns and payment of taxes under Income Tax, GST, Service Tax, FCRA.
  • Ensure all legal compliances.
  • Cross functional Coordination with Other Departments.
  • Writing financial reports/updates
  • Any other tasks assigned by Supervisor/PI.
Qualification:

Essential:
  • Master\'s Degree in Commerce/ MBA in Finance/ Any other degree equivalent to MBA
Experience:

Essential:
  • Minimum 8-10 years\' work experience in Finance.
Desirable:
  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication skill (Hindi, English)
  • Willingness to undertake project travel
  • Excellent organizing abilities
