We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Clinical Psychologist to provide expert clinical leadership and autonomous professional practice within our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and implementation of complex treatment plans for individuals with severe and chronic mental health conditions. This role also involves providing clinical supervision and consultation to other professionals, contributing to service development, and engaging in research and training initiatives.Key Responsibilities
Clinical Practice:
Conduct comprehensive psychological and diagnostic assessments, including psychometric testing and structured interviews, for clients with complex mental health needs.
Develop, implement, and monitor highly specialist, evidence-based treatment plans and psychological interventions for individuals, families, and groups.
Provide crisis intervention and risk management for individuals in distress or with challenging behaviors.
Utilize a range of therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and others, as appropriate to client needs.
Consultation:
Provide expert clinical advice, consultation, and supervision to other clinical psychologists, trainees, and multidisciplinary team members (e.g., psychiatrists, social workers, nurses).
Lead the planning, organization, and development of high-quality, evidence-based psychological services, ensuring alignment with national guidelines and best practices.
Conduct therapies and use technology based therapies like rTMS, Red Light
Contribute to organizational and strategic planning processes, advising management on matters where psychological and/or organizational factors need addressing.
Research, Training & Development:
Design, implement, and evaluate clinical programs and service improvements based on current research and data analysis.
Engage in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with advancements in the field.
Participate in and lead research or clinical audit projects, publishing findings or presenting at conferences as required.
Deliver education and training to other professionals and consumer groups on mental health topics and interventions.
Documentation & Ethics:
Maintain accurate client records in accordance with ethical and legal standards.
Adhere to professional ethics and guidelines.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Education:
Requires a Masters / Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution.
Licensure/Certification:
Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Clinical Psychologist in the relevant jurisdiction is necessary.
Experience:
Significant post-licensure clinical experience, typically 5+ years, in mental health is required, including senior or consultant-level roles with supervisory duties.
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities are needed.
Proficiency in psychological assessments and relevant tools, including EHR systems.
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team is important.
