The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. This includes planning, budgeting, scheduling, coordinating contractors, ensuring safety and quality compliance, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and supervise all construction activities on site.
Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets.
Manage and monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to design, specifications, and standards.
Supervise subcontractors, vendors, and on-site personnel.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure safety, quality, and schedule compliance.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and stakeholders to resolve design and technical issues.
Review and approve project-related documents such as drawings, RFI responses, and change orders.
Manage procurement of materials and ensure timely delivery to site.
Track project costs and prepare progress reports for senior management.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements.
Lead project meetings and maintain effective communication with clients and team members.
Identify risks and develop mitigation plans to prevent delays or cost overruns.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Certifications (preferred):
PMP, LEED, or equivalent certification.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD).
Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
Soft Skills:
Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
