Job Summary

Construction Helpers assist skilled tradespeople and site supervisors in carrying out daily construction activities. The role involves manual labour, site preparation, material handling, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment in accordance with project requirements and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Assist masons, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and other skilled workers on site Load, unload, and move construction materials, tools, and equipment Prepare construction sites by clearing debris and setting up scaffolding, barricades, and safety signs Mix, pour, and spread construction materials such as cement, concrete, and mortar as instructed Dig trenches, backfill, compact soil, and assist in basic groundwork activities Operate basic hand tools and power tools under supervision Clean work areas, tools, and equipment at the end of each shift Follow site safety rules, PPE requirements, and supervisor instructions Support general maintenance and minor repair tasks as required
Health & Safety Responsibilities

Comply with all HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) policies Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or hazards to the site supervisor Participate in safety briefings and toolbox talks
Job Requirements

Minimum education: Basic literacy preferred Prior construction or labour experience is an advantage (training can be provided) Physically fit and able to perform manual labour in outdoor conditions Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team Willingness to work overtime, shifts, and weekends if required
Skills & Competencies

Basic understanding of construction tools and materials Good teamwork and communication skills Strong work ethic and reliability Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Working Conditions

Construction sites (indoor and outdoor) Exposure to heat, dust, noise, and heavy materials Standing, lifting, bending, and walking for extended periods
