Job OverviewWe are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Computer Science Teacher to educate, inspire, and guide students in grades 9 through 12. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering computational thinking and problem-solving skills, preparing students for future academic and professional endeavors in the rapidly evolving world of technology. The role involves developing and implementing a comprehensive curriculum covering foundational and advanced computer science concepts. Key Responsibilities

Curriculum & Instruction:

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons and hands-on activities that facilitate students' acquisition of both basic and advanced computer skills, including programming, algorithms, and data structures.

Technical Subjects:

Instruct students on topics such as programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++, HTML, CSS, JavaScript), software development methodologies, and the use of various software development tools and technologies.

Classroom Management:

Maintain a positive, inclusive, and orderly classroom and computer laboratory environment that promotes collaboration and active engagement while ensuring equipment is functional and up-to-date.

Assessment:

Evaluate and grade student progress through assignments, projects, quizzes, and examinations, providing constructive and timely feedback to enhance learning outcomes.

Collaboration & Support:

Collaborate with other educators to integrate computer science principles across the curriculum and provide individualized support or guidance to students during research or project work.

Professional Development:

Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in computer science and educational technology to ensure the curriculum remains relevant and engaging.

Extracurricular Activities:

Organize and supervise extracurricular activities such as coding clubs or computer science competitions to foster student interest and practical application of skills.
Qualifications & Skills

Education:

A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline is required. A Master's degree is desirable.

Certification:

Relevant state teaching certification or licensure in Computer Science or a related subject is typically required for public schools. Private schools may have different requirements.

Technical Proficiency:

Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and various programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++).

Experience:

Prior experience teaching computer science at the high school level is preferred.

Soft Skills:

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to students with varying levels of experience. Strong organizational and time-management abilities are essential.
