Job Description

A computer technician installs, maintains, and repairs computer hardware and software for an organization or clients. Key duties include diagnosing and resolving technical issues, installing new software and hardware, performing regular maintenance and updates, and providing technical support to users. They are essential for ensuring that a company's computer systems operate efficiently. Core responsibilities

Hardware and software maintenance:

Installing and configuring new hardware and software, running software updates, and performing routine maintenance to ensure systems are functioning correctly.

Troubleshooting and repair:

Diagnosing and resolving issues with computer systems, networks, and peripheral devices like printers and scanners. This can involve repairing hardware components or fixing software problems.

Technical support:

Providing technical assistance to end-users, both in person and remotely, to help them with their computer-related problems. This can include coaching users on how to use new equipment or software.

Network support:

Setting up and maintaining computer networks, including troubleshooting connectivity issues.

Documentation:

Creating and maintaining technical documentation, and recording service calls and repairs.

Technical expertise:

Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and common software applications.

Problem-solving skills:

The ability to identify, analyze, and effectively solve technical problems.
