A Computer Operator monitors, controls, and maintains computer systems and networks, ensuring smooth operations, timely processing, and data security through tasks like running programs, troubleshooting issues, performing backups, and providing user support, often in a server room or data center environment, collaborating with IT teams to keep systems running efficiently.

• System Monitoring: Watch and manage computer systems, networks, and peripheral equipment for optimal performance and uptime, responding to error messages.

: Start applications, run scheduled jobs, and enter commands as directed by production schedules.
: Perform routine upkeep, including software updates, patch management, data backups, and hardware checks.
: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, and adjust equipment settings.
: Assist internal and external users with computer-related problems, provide training, and answer inquiries.
: Implement security protocols, manage data backups, and maintain confidentiality.
: Keep detailed logs of system operations, issues, and resolutions.
: Manage supplies, set up equipment, and maintain inventory of IT components.

• Strong understanding of computer hardware, software, and networks.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and time-management skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in high-pressure situations.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for user support.
• Often requires a High School Diploma/GED; certifications or associate's degrees in IT are beneficial.
