Job Title: Computer Operator
Reports To: Store Incharge / Warehouse Head
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Computer Operator is responsible for managing all computer-based work in the
warehouse, including stock entries, product data, and documentation of goods received
and issued.
This role ensures that every item in the warehouse is properly recorded in the system,
that all entries are accurate, and that related documents are well maintained.
The Computer Operator plays a key part in keeping the warehouse organized and in
helping the Store Incharge with daily reports and stock verification.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Data Entry & Product Management
Enter all inward and outward stock details in the system on a daily basis.
Create new product entries with correct item names, codes, prices, and other details.
Update product information whenever there are changes in stock, price, or description.
Maintain proper digital records of all warehouse items for easy tracking and reporting.
Assist the warehouse team in maintaining accuracy in stock software or ERP systems.
2. Product Auditing & Stock Verification
Conduct regular product audits with the Store Incharge to match system stock with physical stock.
Identify and report any difference or shortage immediately to the Store Incharge.
Maintain a log of audit findings and help in resolving stock discrepancies.
Ensure that all stock data is updated after verification.
3. Documentation & Record Keeping
Keep proper documentation of all goods received in the warehouse, including purchase bills, delivery challans, and gate entries.
Prepare Goods Received Notes (GRN) and ensure all related paperwork is complete and filed properly.
Maintain both soft and hard copies of all warehouse documents.
Support in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports for management review.
4. Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate with the Store Incharge, Purchase Department, and Accounts Team for data verification and report preparation.
Assist in updating product price lists, barcodes, and vendor details.
Generate regular reports such as daily stock movement, audit summaries, and new product entry lists.
Ensure smooth and timely sharing of data between the warehouse and other departments.
5. Compliance & System Maintenance
Follow company procedures for data accuracy, confidentiality, and reporting timelines.
Ensure system files are regularly updated and backed up.
Support the warehouse team in maintaining an organized and clean work environment.
6. Cash Counter Support (Secondary Responsibility)
Assist at the cash counter when required, such as during peak hours, staff shortage, or absences.
Handle billing, customer payments, and return entries as per company's Cash Counter SOP.
Maintain accuracy in transactions and ensure smooth customer service.
Follow all company guidelines for handling cash and system billing operations.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
Graduate in Commerce or Computer Applications.
Knowledge of Excel, Word, and inventory or billing software is preferred.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Strong computer skills with good typing speed and accuracy.
Knowledge of stock and inventory management processes.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Detail-oriented, responsible, and well-organized.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
