A Computer Data Operator (or Data Entry Operator) accurately inputs, updates, and maintains data in digital systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality by verifying information from source documents, correcting errors, managing databases, and generating reports, requiring high typing speed, attention to detail, and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) for efficient record-keeping and support.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Input & Management: Transferring data from paper/digital sources into databases, spreadsheets, or other software.
Accuracy & Verification: Comparing entered data with source documents, identifying and correcting errors, and ensuring data integrity.
Database Maintenance: Updating records, performing routine backups, and ensuring data security and confidentiality.
Reporting: Generating data summaries, reports, and assisting with data retrieval for various business needs.
Clerical Duties: Scanning, printing, filing, and organizing both digital and physical records.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
Typing: Fast and accurate typing (e.g., 40-50 WPM) with strong keyboarding skills.
Software Proficiency: Expertise in MS Office (Word, Excel) is crucial; familiarity with data entry software.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous focus on accuracy and consistency.
Organization: Ability to manage files and records efficiently.
Communication: Basic English proficiency for clear communication and sentence correction.
