As a

Compliance Officer Intern

at LawCrust, you will be immersed in the real-world workings of

Indian tax laws

, particularly focusing on

GST filing

and

TDS payment processes

. Under the guidance of our seasoned compliance professionals, you'll not only get to understand the theory behind the rules but also engage in the actual practice--contributing to live client work, attending internal training sessions, and assisting in compliance planning and execution.

You will interact with cross-functional teams, learn the nuances of regulatory reporting, and understand the role of compliance in mitigating business risk. Key Responsibilities:



As a

Compliance Officer Intern

, you will be actively involved in a wide range of compliance tasks that are essential to the day-to-day operations of our finance and legal departments. You'll work closely with senior professionals to ensure our clients meet all necessary legal and regulatory obligations. Your key responsibilities will include:

1. GST Filing Support



Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual

GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.)

for multiple clients. Verify sales and purchase data, reconcile with GSTR-2A/2B, and ensure accurate input tax credit claims. Collaborate with the accounting team to gather necessary invoices, bills, and transaction records for GST computation. Help identify discrepancies or mismatches in returns and assist in their resolution.

2. TDS Payment and Reporting



Assist in the calculation and timely payment of

Tax Deducted at Source (TDS)

across various sections such as 194C, 194J, etc. Help maintain TDS challan records and ensure monthly payments are filed within prescribed due dates. Support the quarterly filing of

TDS returns (Form 26Q, 24Q, etc.)

and coordinate with clients for required details. Assist in the generation and distribution of

TDS certificates (Form 16/16A)

.

3. Document Management & Compliance Recordkeeping



Maintain organized digital and physical records of all compliance filings, returns, challans, and related correspondence. Assist in compiling documents required for audits, assessments, and internal reviews. Ensure accurate archiving of client compliance histories for easy retrieval and reference.

4. Regulatory Research & Updates



Stay up-to-date with the latest changes and updates in

GST, TDS, and other financial compliance regulations

. Summarize key changes and help communicate relevant updates to internal teams and clients in a clear, easy-to-understand format.

5. Cross-functional Collaboration



Work closely with the legal, finance, and client servicing teams to ensure end-to-end compliance on projects. Participate in internal training sessions, discussions, and compliance planning meetings. Support ad-hoc requests related to audits, government notices, or other regulatory events.

6. Reporting & Analysis



Assist in preparing

compliance status reports

for internal review and client reporting. Contribute to periodic

compliance health checks

to ensure no missed deadlines or liabilities. Help with the generation of MIS reports that provide insights into the overall compliance posture of client portfolios.

7. Administrative Support



Help schedule compliance calendar alerts and maintain task trackers to ensure timely execution of activities. Assist in drafting client communication emails, follow-ups, and reminders related to filings and submissions.

Eligibility Criteria:



Education

: Graduation in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (B.Com, BBA, etc.).

Freshers are welcome

- if you're passionate and ready to learn, we're ready to teach! Prior internship or academic exposure to

GST, TDS

, or accounting is an added advantage.

What We're Looking For:



Basic understanding of

Indian tax laws

(especially GST and TDS). Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. Excellent command over

MS Excel

and familiarity with accounting tools (like Tally, Zoho, etc. - a bonus). Good communication skills and a proactive attitude. A reliable

laptop

and readiness to work

on-site

from our Nerul office. Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute in a fast-paced environment.
