Job Summary:
The Compliance Manager ensures that all operations in India and Bangladesh suppliers in the textile, paper, printing, and packaging production chain adhere to social, labour, environmental, and ethical standards. This role includes managing internal and external audits, corrective actions, training, compliance policy alignment, and coordinating with third-party auditors. The role demands strong attention to evolving international and national compliance standards, including buyer-specific codes of conduct.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage all business processes across MFPL Group related to regulatory and social compliance.
Ensure compliance with national/local labour laws, ILO standards, and internal corporate policies.
Plan, coordinate, and execute internal social compliance audits across all facilities.
Prepare facilities for third-party, customer, and certification audits such as ISO, SEDEX, GRS, FSC, SA8000, BSCI, WRAP, OBP, GOATS, etc.
Maintain updated audit documentation, reports, and follow-up records.
Conduct due diligence and onboarding audits for new suppliers.
Monitor compliance across key focus areas:
Labour standards
Wages and working hours
Health & safety
Child and forced labour
Non-discrimination
Ethical business conduct
Develop, implement, and monitor Corrective and Preventive Action Plans (CAPA).
Standardize compliance policies and procedures across all manufacturing units.
Continuously evaluate compliance risks and ensure documentation-based mitigation.
Lead investigations into compliance incidents, ensuring rectification per regulations.
Liaise with HR, legal, operations, and senior management for integrated compliance systems.
Coordinate with third-party auditors, consultants, and buyers' compliance teams.
Stay updated with legal, regulatory, and industry developments and reflect those in internal policies.
Conduct regular compliance checks and training at all MFPL units.
Serve as the single point of contact for all internal/external compliance communications.
Prepare and present detailed monthly and quarterly compliance reports to senior leadership.
Support sustainability and environmental compliance initiatives.
Faced buyer's audit of following like Sedex, BSCI, Decathlon, PRIMARK, NEXT, SLCP.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, Industrial Relations, or Social Work.
Master's degree preferred.
Skills Required:
In-depth knowledge of global compliance standards: BSCI, SA8000, WRAP, SEDEX, ISO 14001, etc.
Strong understanding of Indian labour laws and ethical sourcing standards.
Certification or formal training in social auditing (preferred: SA8000, BSCI, WRAP).
Excellent skills in audit execution, reporting, risk analysis, and interdepartmental coordination.
Excellent communication skills (Tamil, Hindi and English), both spoken and written.
Familiar with compliance management systems and digital audit/reporting tools.
Highly disciplined, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
Willingness and ability to travel frequently to all factory locations within the MFPL Group.
Candidate must be from Tripur and open for relocate.
