This position will sit within JPMC\'s Global Compliance, Conduct, & Operational Risk (CCOR) department in the Office of Fair Lending (OFL). OFL monitoring includes the ongoing evaluation and identification of fair lending risk, as well as control effectiveness in business processes. The monitoring performed is designed to maximize coverage across LOBs by using data and transaction files to assess the level of risk, evaluate controls or processes implemented to mitigate risks and/or oversee compliance with regulatory obligations and internal policies, standards and procedures. The team will primarily cover Consumer Community Banking lending products within Home Lending, Credit Card, Business Banking and Auto. Description for Internal Candidates

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for participating in forensic file reviews to confirm fair lending compliance throughout multiple business lines. This work includes an independent assessment of business practices, including the review of underwriting of approved, declined and other non-originated loan applications or validation of appropriate consumer or business pricing identified as part of a Fair Lending comparative file review of credit loan applications and loan life cycle servicing.
  • Review scope will focus on underwriting and pricing compliance with written credit policies, credit operating procedures, and fair lending regulations such as the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) and the Fair Housing Act (FHAct).
  • Additional responsibilities may include the review of credit policies, credit operations and loss mitigation procedures, product guides, pricing matrices, marketing material and/or other credit product related materials.
  • Individuals are expected to use independent judgement as well as technical, operational, and regulatory experience to identify exceptions and solutions while ensuring quality and timeliness of monitoring execution.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, Skills:
  • Extensive understanding of credit underwriting practices for consumer lending products
  • Qualified Graduate with minimum of 8 years of related financial services experience in lending related activities, compliance or legal functions or equivalent regulatory background
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral are essential since this position frequently engages with line of business stakeholders
  • The ability to work in a constantly changing environment driven by regulatory focus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
  • Prior experience in Regulatory, Compliance, quality control monitoring, or audit initiatives
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
