+ - Lead the complete design and development of automotive seating systems, including seat structures, mechanisms (recliners, adjusters, etc.), trim covers, comfort systems (foam, heating, ventilation), and safety features (head restraints, seat belts integration).
- Develop and manage the complete seat Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Generate and maintain detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using relevant software (e.g., CATIA V5/V6, NX).
- Conduct feasibility studies, packaging analysis, and tolerance stack-ups to ensure design viability and manufacturability.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including styling, ergonomics, safety, manufacturing, and suppliers, to ensure seamless integration of the seat system with the overall vehicle architecture.
- Develop and execute design validation plans (DVP&R) to verify and validate seat performance against customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory specifications.
- Troubleshoot design issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Support prototype build and testing activities, providing technical guidance and resolving any design-related concerns.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends, technologies, and regulations related to automotive seating design and materials.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate design concepts, analysis results, and project status.
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers as needed.
