Job Description

The Community Social Worker (Frontline Worker) will be responsible for direct engagement with children, families, and community institutions in assigned BMG villages. The role focuses on ensuring every child is in school, no child is in labour, strengthening community-led structures, mobilizing entitlements, and sustaining the Bal Mitra Gram model through continuous handholding and awareness building.







Key Responsibilities





Household & Child Tracking

Maintain updated records of all children in the village, tracking school enrolment, attendance, and dropout risks. Identify cases of child labour, child marriage, or protection risks and report them to VCPCs and Project Officer.

Community Mobilization & Institution Support

Facilitate regular meetings of VCPCs, SMCs, Bal Panchayats, and BMG Samitis. Support child leaders in Bal Panchayat activities, elections, and campaigns. Encourage youth and women's group participation in awareness and monitoring activities.

Education & Anganwadi Support

Assist SMCs and teachers to ensure 100% enrolment and retention of children. Support Anganwadi staff in delivering quality early childhood care and education. Mobilize parents to prioritize education and discourage child labour.

Awareness Generation

Organize street plays, wall paintings, sports events, and community dialogues on child rights, education, and protection. Ensure participation of children and community members in annual awareness campaigns.

Government Schemes & Convergence

Identify eligible households for government entitlements (scholarships, pensions, PDS, MNREGA, skill development etc). Support families in documentation and application processes. Liaise with local officials when required under guidance of Project Officer.

Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation

Maintain village-level registers and monitoring formats for children, schools, and entitlements. Submit weekly updates to the Project Officer. Collect success stories and case studies from the field.

o Zero children engaged in labour or child marriage in the assigned village.





Community Institution Support



o Minimum 1 meeting/month for VCPC, SMC, Bal Panchayat, and BMG Samiti facilitated/documented.



o Bal Panchayat elections and leadership handover conducted smoothly.





Awareness & Mobilization



o At least 4 awareness activities per quarter conducted at village level.



o Active participation of minimum 50% households in awareness campaigns.





Government Scheme Linkages



o At least 80% eligible households in assigned village linked to relevant government entitlements.



o Minimum 1 convergence activity with block/district officials facilitated every 3 months.





Education & Anganwadi Support



o 100% Anganwadi centres functional and monitored.



o Minimum 2 joint activities with schools/Anganwadi per quarter.





Reporting & Documentation



o Weekly reports submitted on time with accurate child/village data.



o Minimum 1 case studies/success stories per BMG submitted per month.

Minimum 12th pass, has exposure of working on field, liasoning with government authorities, Community engagement
