Kullu and Mandi

is a noble initiative of The Hans Foundation, a non-profit organisation, working in collaboration with the HDFC Bank. The objectives are to make Himachal's handloom and handcrafted textiles accessible to global markets, impart technical and design skills to rural women artisans of Kullu and Mandi thereby helping them enhance their indigenous skills, and finally, make local craft products that match the needs and aspirations of the new-age consumer.

Our aim is to directly impact the lives of women weavers of Himachal Pradesh.

JOB PURPOSE


We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Community Organiser to join our team and drive the Project grass-root work of HHH-cera in Himachal and other location while supporting local artisans in Kullu and Mandi Himachal Pradesh.
:

1. Conducting outreach and engagement activities within the community to promote handloom production and market supply.
2. Providing training and capacity-building support to local artisans on production processes, and quality control.
3. Facilitating access to resources, such as raw materials, equipment, and financial schemes, to enhance handloom production.
4. Collaborating with local government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to create market linkages for handloom products.
5. Monitoring and evaluating the impact of interventions on handloom production and market supply.
6. Providing advisory services to artisans and weavers on market trends, pricing strategies, and product development.
7. Advocating for the preservation of traditional handloom techniques and cultural heritage within the community.
8. Documenting success stories and best practices to showcase the achievements of the handloom sector.

Other requirements:

1. Knowledge of handloom or knitting or stitching techniques, traditional crafts, and day to day operations in these sectors.
2. Ability to work independently, prioritize task, and meet deadlines.
3. Proficiency in local languages and computer skills would be an advantage.
