Job Description

: Optometrist

Level: Adjunct Optometrist

Clinical:

1. To maintain the infrastructure & optometric instruments and equipment like Tonometer, & ensure availability of all protocol led requirements in an assessment.

2. To assess the patient and make clear documentation of the findings followed by clear initials or signature

3. To do correct refraction; prescribe glasses in clear specified format and counsel the patient about the need and its use.

4. To specify the provisional diagnosis and notes about the management plan from an optometry point of view.

5. Professional presentation and communication at the work place as per expectations.

6. Identification of sub-specialty area.

Academic:

1. To take classes for V.T

2. To attend the scheduled sub-specialty classes with preparation.

3. Participation and presentations in CMEs and Conferences.

Research:

1. To assist a senior in at least one clinical study.

2. To assist a senior in creating atleast one publication/ article.

Skills:

Technical:

Sound knowledge of various equipments and ways to maintain and care for them.

Sound knowledge about various ocular conditions & possibilities; possible causes, if not the etiology, so that the patient is referred to the relevant specialty.

Skillfully documenting condition & assessment in clear & specific optometric details.

Capable of reading; writing and speaking English & Hindi.

General:

Capable of engaging in formal communication in a hierarchy

Sound at assessing, and documenting a patient's symptoms and behavior.

Display a rigorous & rational method of reaching an assessment/ judgment.

Detail-oriented and holistic perspective.

Attitude:

Willingness to share; a passion to help

Learn ability, Performance Orientation

Polite and empathetic Demeanour

Key Performance Indicators:

a) Percentage protocol followed as audited.

b) Number of unplanned leaves.

c) Number of instances of indiscipline/ complaints.

d) Lost time (in hrs.) due to delay in processes.

e) Number of sub-specialty classes attended, & on time.

f) Number of glass prescriptions found inaccurate or repeated by seniors because of deviation from correct value.

g) Number of CMEs attended.

h) Number of classes taken/ subjects covered for B.Sc. / VT.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
