Role Overview



ResPublica Consulting is seeking a highly motivated and field-oriented Community Engagement Associate to support and execute outreach and stakeholder engagement activities across multiple projects. The role requires a professional who can effectively bridge institutional objectives with community participation, ensuring inclusive, informed, and responsive engagement at the grassroots level.

The position demands strong interpersonal skills, contextual understanding, and the ability to represent the organisation professionally in community-facing and institutional environments. The incumbent will work closely with project managers, technical teams, and local stakeholders to facilitate communication, awareness-building, and participatory processes.

Key Responsibilities



Community Outreach & Engagement



Plan, coordinate, and execute community outreach and engagement activities aligned with project objectives. Facilitate interactions with local communities, resident groups, civil society organisations, and other stakeholders to ensure meaningful participation. Support the implementation of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaigns, public consultations, awareness drives, and community meetings.

Stakeholder Coordination



Act as a liaison between the organisation, local communities, and government or institutional stakeholders. Build and maintain constructive relationships with community leaders, local representatives, and field-level officials. Assist in organising workshops, public meetings, focus group discussions, and presentations.

Communication & Presentation



Deliver clear, context-appropriate presentations and briefings to diverse audiences, including community members and institutional stakeholders. Support the preparation of outreach materials, presentations, reports, and documentation related to engagement activities. Ensure consistent and professional communication in line with organisational values and project requirements.

Field Operations & Reporting



Conduct regular field visits across Palakkad district to support project implementation and monitor engagement activities. Document field observations, community feedback, and engagement outcomes in structured reports. Provide inputs for periodic project reviews and assist in refining engagement strategies based on ground-level insights.

Support to Project Teams



Work closely with internal project teams to integrate community perspectives into programme planning and execution. Assist in coordinating logistics and schedules for field activities. Ensure compliance with ethical standards, inclusivity principles, and project protocols during all engagements.

Qualifications



Postgraduate degree in one of the following or related disciplines: Master of Social Work (MSW) MSc Environmental Science Public Health Other relevant social or environmental sciences

Experience



Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in community engagement, outreach, social development projects, environmental programmes, public health initiatives, or related fields. Prior experience in IEC-based community engagement programmes will be strongly preferred. Experience working with government bodies, local institutions, NGOs, or consulting firms will be an added advantage.

Essential Requirements



Must be a resident/local of Palakkad district with strong familiarity with local geography, communities, and socio-cultural dynamics. Mandatory possession of a two-wheeler and valid driving licence (field-intensive role). Willingness to travel extensively within the district as part of project responsibilities.

Strong interpersonal and community-facing communication skills. Ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders across social, cultural, and institutional contexts. Good presentation and facilitation skills. Basic proficiency in documentation, reporting, and use of digital tools. High levels of professionalism, integrity, and adaptability. Ability to work independently in the field as well as collaboratively within a team. Strong organisational and time-management skills.
