The Coordinator will lead the implementation, monitoring, and day-to-day management of the Community Development Program at the Sangam Vihar community. Serving as the key link between the YWCA of Delhi and the local community, the Coordinator will ensure effective program delivery, case management, documentation, team supervision, and smooth centre operations. This role demands strong leadership to drive community engagement, promote education and protection, and empower marginalized groups & their inclusion while building systems and relationships that support long-term impact and sustainability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Implementation & Community Engagement
? Independently & with team conduct household and community visits for needs assessment, outreach, awareness, and rapport building.
? Ensure every household is reached and engaged through regular field visits.
? Mobilize women, children, and adolescents for education, health, protection, legal aid, and livelihood programs.
? Facilitate group formation and strengthening of community-based organizations (e.g., women's groups, children's clubs, adolescent and support groups).
? Conduct awareness sessions on women & children's rights, Gender based violence, Sexual Reproductive Health Rights, protection laws, and access to services etc..
Case Management & Referrals
? Identify, register, and manage cases of domestic violence, child abuse, neglect, and other forms of exploitation.
? Provide in-house counselling and psycho-social support to affected individuals.
? Assist survivors in filing complaints or FIRs; accompany them to Police Stations, CWC, DCPU, and legal authorities.
? Ensure proper follow-up and closure of all referral cases; maintain detailed case records and registers.
? Build and maintain strong working relationships with CWC, Police, Women Help Desks, SDM offices, DCPU, Government schools, MLAs, faith-based leaders and other key stakeholders.
Education, Skill Development & Youth Engagement
? Oversee and support all education and skill-based programs at the centre, including Foundation and Preparatory classes conducted by the Community Mobiliser, and Middle and Senior-level classes led by the Coordinator. Ensure age-appropriate curriculum planning with the HoD, monitor student progress, and address learning gaps to improve retention.
? Ensure quality teaching, discipline, and consistent attendance of children enrolled in the learning program.
? Plan and facilitate special sessions such as career awareness, life skills, and activity-based learning for children and youth.
? Lead or coordinate skill-based learning programs for children, youth, and women such as craftwork, cutting, tailoring, and other vocational trainings, based on community needs and program priorities.
? Mobilize local resources (in-kind or financial) through community engagement, local partnerships, and networking.
? Encourage participation and long-term engagement of learners in both education and livelihood programs to promote self-reliance and empowerment.
Centre & Team Management
? Take full responsibility for the functioning of the community resource centre, ensuring it remains a clean, safe, and inclusive space for women and children.
? Manage operational needs, generate and track requests related to rent, electricity, internet, water, and other essentials; ensure timely bill payments and maintenance.
? Supervise and guide the field team, including community mobilisers, volunteers, instructors, and support staff.
? Review daily reports submitted by team members and provide timely feedback.
? Conduct weekly team meetings and prepare monthly activity plans for submission to the HOD.
? Ensure all center-based registers, attendance logs, and stock records are updated and maintained.
Documentation, Reporting & Communication
? Maintain daily reporting records and compile monthly reports, including case stories, success stories, and field learnings.
? Track financial activities related to the centre, record expenses, maintain receipts, and support monthly expenditure statements (both manual and digital).
? Take advances as per the approved program plan, ensure timely and appropriate utilization of funds in line with the planned activities, maintain records of expenses, and complete financial settlements as per organizational procedures.
? Communicate all major activities, events, and updates to the HOD through timely emails.
? Contribute to budget planning and project proposals based on community needs.
? Visit the head office as required for meetings, reporting, and planning sessions, events as required.
Livelihood & Resource Mobilization
? Form & strengthen women livelihood groups and production units.
? Ensure quality control of products, maintain inventory, track stock movement, and manage production records.
? Coordinate sales and promotion of products through exhibitions, sales drives, or local channels.
? Generate local support and resources, liaise with MLAs, SDM offices, like minded NGOs or CSR channels for training, infrastructure, or material needs.
? Create linkages with government schools, skill development departments, and relevant schemes for community benefit.
Desirable: Educational Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
A graduate degree preferable in social work/ sociology
At least 2-5 yrs of experience
Skills & Personal Attributes
Strong communication skills in Hindi (verbal/written); basic proficiency in English
Confident in community engagement, counselling, and networking
Working knowledge of MS Office, email, and digital tools
Understanding of government schemes, child protection, women rights and local governance
Honest, punctual, and demonstrates high integrity
Strong leadership with the ability to guide and motivate a team
Able to work independently and collaboratively with a team
Self-driven, open to feedback, and committed to continuous learning
Empathetic, culturally sensitive, and composed during crises
Takes initiative and ownership of responsibilities
