About the role
As a Senior Manager, Communications, you will drive impactful contributions and
focus on outcomes. You will be a key member of the Global Communications team,
collaborating with the Associate Director of Industry PR & Communications,
executives, technical teams, marketing leads, PR agencies, and communciations
colleagues. As the Senior Manager, Communications will support the development
execution of the 360-degree communications strategy for the company's
Manufacturing, Automotive, Transportation & Logistics, Energy & Utilities (BU),
Retail/Consumer and Travel & Hospitality (BU) in the Americas region at Cognizant.
The Senior Manager will leverage all elements of the Paid, Earned, Shared and
Owned (PESO) communications model to ensure communications directly supports
the achievement of the desired Cognizant business outcomes in the industry,
including, but not limited to continued growth and recognition as an employer of
choice in the IT industry by both current Associates and candidates.
The Senior Manager will also support the development and lead the execution of an
executive communications strategy for their business leader(s), positioning them as
thought leader(s) both internally and externally.

In this role, you will:
-Supports the development, and owns the execution of, the 360-degree
communications strategy for the respective industry vertical and its leaders.
-Supports the workflow and work assignments of industry communications with
the relevant Cognizant and agency teams to ensure effective collaboration
and execution among team members driving timely, consistent, and quality
work.
-Leads industry-specific vertical media activities in the US, preparing and
drafting press releases and other media assets in partnership with Cognizant
and PR Agency colleagues.
-Collaborates with Cognizant internal business and functional stakeholders on
all Associate/internal communications for the industry leadership team.
-Supports developing the industry thought leadership platform for the industry
vertical leader(s). This includes support managing leaders' social media
channels as necessary (i.e. LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, etc...).
-Collaborate with field marketing colleague(s) to secure media opportunities for
industry lead(s) at relevant industry trade shows and events.
-Measure and adapt communications activities, reporting out to industry and
functional leadership on progress, and make adjustments as necessary.
-Performs other related duties as assigned.

What you must have to be considered
8+ years of relevant experience in external communications, public relations,
or media relations, preferably with exposure to international or EMEA
markets.
Demonstrated ability to develop 360-degree communications strategies with a
bias towards action and execution.
Excellent writing and editing skills across all communications channels
(Media, social, web, internal).
Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize with some guidance/direction.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent executive presence
Excellent presentation skills
Bachelor's Degree (Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related
field)
A strong sense of ownership, desire to create meaningful outcomes, and
passion for work that serves a greater good for customers, communities, or
global challenges.

These will help you succeed
Experience as a media spokesperson
Experience working in the IT Services industry.
3+ years working with executive leadership.
Master's Degree (Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related
field)
Experience working in the MLEU and/or Retail and Consumer and Travel &
Hospitality industries
Experience with internal collaboration tools (Yammer/Engage, TEAMs, etc...)
Work model - Remote
