About this role

  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary transformation team as the communications expert, providing guidance, advice and delivering
  • Producing and delivering the change comms strategy for various programmes (e.g., human-centred design, agile) that underpin the transformation
  • Influencing stakeholders, ensuring their buy in and alignment with communication priorities
  • Aligning with wider change management / adoption strategy, ensuring a joined up experience for end user
  • Producing content for internal BT audiences via various channels including news stories, blog posts, enews, presentations, video, social media, emails, briefing packs etc
  • Managing transformation programme events including strategy, logistics and delivery
  • Contributing to the overarching Corporate Units Digital transformation communications strategy, particularly contributing to case for change, success stories and channel management
  • Managing communication channels (e.g., weekly enewsletter, town hall events)
  • Aligning communications to organisational strategy, using the appropriate BT style guidance, brand and tone of voice
You'll have the following responsibilities
  • Employ strong writing, editing and content creation skills to design and deliver compelling next gen communications and engagement activities to diverse internal audiences across multiple, dynamic channels
  • Create an impactful narrative with an end-user lens to build the case for change, share our organisational vision and shape experiences for colleagues
  • Storytelling with data: drawing on data and insights, using analytical techniques where appropriate, and distilling technical information to communicate simply to business audiences
  • Problem solving working collaboratively to find creative solutions to problems, handling abstract concepts, ambiguity and complexity with skill and helping others to handle them too.
  • Engagement: Ability to persuade and influence diverse groups of senior stakeholders both internal and external, with sophisticated skills to gain cooperation in complex scenario, navigates conflict and ambiguous situations
  • User focus - Understands users and can identify who they are and what their needs are based on evidence e.g., persona centric communications. Able to translate user stories and propose relevant communication & change initiatives
You'll have the following skills & experience
  • More than two years transformation communications experience, relevant degree preferred
  • Proven experience creating and delivering change communications strategy
  • Proven experience working with change managers, aligning change and communications strategy (ADKAR experience preferred)
  • Proven experience using traditional (enews, events) and modern communication channels (e.g., video, social media, design) and can guide leaders as to what channel is most appropriate
  • Comfortable with working in a busy, project environment with evolving priorities and competing stakeholders
  • Worked in an agile environment, comfortable with uncertainty while creating certainty for others
