POSITION DETAILS

Position Summary

Develops commodity supplier base strategy and execute it, Manage strategic sourcing projects, and drive commodity metrics. Support Circor industrial sites supply chain team on strategic initiations. This position will handle commodities Castings, Motors, Actuation & Mechanical distribution parts in global supply base.

Principal Activities

• Ownership of direct material commodities Castings, Motors, Actuation and Mechanical distribution parts.
• Responsible for developing commodity strategy & roadmap; ensure strategy migration into the existing supply chain with minimum disruption and maximum cost reduction
• Drive relentless focus and organizational execution on following key commodity metrics: Material productivity (year over year Savings), Establish supplier contracts, supplier base rationalization and supplier performances.
• Manage and execute sourcing transition projects - Make to Buy / Buy to Buy, Identify Sourcing Projects opportunities by working site SCM team, develop business case and execute projects with suppliers & internal stakeholders
• Responsible for active and continuous communication of sourcing projects, programs, and sourcing policies
• Rapidly deploy sourcing initiatives in growing business units.
• Handle RFI, RFQs and Competitively bid, negotiate agreements, and prices.
• Drive supply base strategy with Selection and deselection of suppliers, coordinate supplier approval process.
• Manages and develop supplier relationships in designated commodities suppliers.
• Drive VMI/consignment arrangements and reduce supply lead time.
• Review and ensure that the appropriate financial metrics are monitored, and proper fiscal controls are in place to maximize cost savings throughout the function including cost savings, working capital improvement, inventory reduction, price inflation mitigation.
• Understand, monitor, and report current commodity market conditions/trends, developing technologies, supply chain capacity/ capability, product knowledge, customer requirements and supply/demand challenges and manage risk in the supply chain pro-actively.
• Develop negotiation plans and actively drive renegotiation with suppliers per commodity market conditions
• Guides and supports sourcing team and supply chain on commodity best practices
• Collaborate with product management and engineering team on driving product cost reduction initiatives
• Involves in annual sourcing productivity budgeting process and get alignment with sites for achieving budget goals
• Working closely with global sites supply chain team & various stakeholders on coordination in executing the projects
• Establish a strong network and foster collaboration with suppliers, key stakeholders, customers, sites, and category team members.

• Strong knowledge in Castings & Machining manufacturing processes
• Hands on experience in driving Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) model
• Hands on experience in Supplier Assessment, Supplier Risk Management & Contract Negotiation
• Ability to manage stake holders from across the globe with diverse culture
• Should be strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills

Education & Experience

• Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical / Production / Industrial / Metallurgy.
• 12+ years of experience in commodity / strategic sourcing with good working experience with global supply base.
