- Documentation & Commissioning Engineer (MEP & Laboratory Projects)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Documentation & Commissioning professional to support our MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) and Laboratory projects. The candidate will be responsible for preparing, maintaining, and managing all project documentation, as well as coordinating and executing commissioning activities to ensure systems are tested, validated, and handed over in compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Documentation Management
Prepare, review, and maintain project documentation including drawings, specifications, method statements, SOPs, QA/QC reports, and O&M manuals.
Track, update, and control all project-related documentation (civil, MEP, laboratory systems).
Ensure timely submission of submittals, approvals, RFIs, test certificates, and handover documents.
Develop checklists and formats for pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover activities.
Maintain version control and ensure compliance with ISO, SEFA, ASHRAE, and other relevant standards.
Commissioning & Handover
Plan and coordinate commissioning activities for MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting) and laboratory systems (fume hoods, gas distribution, BMS, lab furniture utilities).
Conduct pre-commissioning checks, functional testing, and performance verification in line with project requirements.
Liaise with design, execution, QA/QC, and client teams to resolve technical or commissioning-related issues.
Ensure systems are commissioned in compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
Prepare and submit commissioning protocols, test reports, and handover documentation.
Support client training sessions on O&M manuals and system operation.
Compliance & Quality
Ensure adherence to project quality plans, HSE standards, and statutory requirements during documentation and commissioning stages.
Assist in audits, inspections, and certifications required for project completion.
Support project closure by ensuring complete documentation, test certificates, warranties, and final approvals.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's/Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering (or related field).
3-7 years of experience in documentation and commissioning of MEP and laboratory projects.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, firefighting, lab furniture, and laboratory utilities.
Hands-on experience with commissioning of laboratory systems (fume hoods, BMS, exhaust systems, gas supply lines).
Familiarity with international codes/standards: ASHRAE, NFPA, SEFA, ISO, GMP (preferred).
Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and document control software.
Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight project timelines.
