The Commis III is an entry-level kitchen position responsible for assisting in basic kitchen work, food preparation, and maintaining cleanliness. This role focuses on learning kitchen operations, food safety standards, and supporting the team for smooth service.
Key Responsibilities:
u Assist in basic food preparation such as washing, peeling, chopping vegetables
u Help in mise-en-place under supervision
u Assist senior chefs during service
u Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, workstations, utensils, and equipment
u Follow food safety and hygiene standards (FSSAI / HACCP)
u Ensure proper waste segregation and disposal
u Assist in receiving, storing, and labeling food items
u Follow FIFO method and basic stock rotation
u Inform seniors about shortages or spoilage
u Handle kitchen tools and equipment safely
u Follow instructions from seniors and adhere to SOPs
u Support stewarding and service teams when required
