We are seeking a skilled and passionate Commis II specializing in Tandoor Cuisine to join our culinary team in Mysuru, India. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist in preparing authentic Indian dishes, with a focus on tandoor specialties, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Assist in the preparation and cooking of tandoor dishes, including breads, meats, and vegetables
Maintain and operate the tandoor oven, ensuring proper temperature control and cooking techniques
Prepare and portion ingredients for tandoor dishes according to recipes and chef instructions
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food preparation
Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards in all aspects of food handling and preparation
Assist in kitchen organization, including inventory management and cleanliness
Support senior chefs in menu development and special culinary projects
Continuously improve culinary skills and knowledge of Indian cuisine
Qualifications
Culinary diploma or equivalent culinary education
1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably with Indian cuisine
Proficiency in tandoor cooking techniques and equipment handling
In-depth knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking methods
Strong knife skills and ability to follow recipes accurately
Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards; food safety certification preferred
