We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis I - Western to join our culinary team in Lucknow, India. As an entry-level position in our kitchen, the Commis I will assist in the preparation and cooking of Western cuisine dishes while learning and developing essential culinary skills.
Assist in the preparation of ingredients for Western dishes, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruits
Support senior chefs in cooking and plating Western cuisine menu items
Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
Learn and apply basic Western cooking techniques under the guidance of experienced chefs
Assist in the proper storage and labeling of ingredients and prepared foods
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service hours
Help with kitchen inventory and restocking supplies as needed
Adapt Western recipes to incorporate local ingredients and cater to local preferences in Lucknow
Participate in daily kitchen briefings and contribute ideas for menu improvements
Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and work areas
Qualifications
HM diploma / Degree or equivalent required; culinary school diploma or certificate preferred
Basic knife skills and knowledge of Western cooking techniques
Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
Basic understanding of kitchen equipment and its proper use
Additional Information
2-3 Years of experience in hotel catering sales.
