Continental Food Preparation and Cooking
Prepare, cook, and present Continental cuisine dishes under the supervision of the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef, ensuring adherence to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.?
Produce food of consistently high quality for a la carte, buffet, banqueting, and special promotions.?
Assist with mise-en-place and manage assigned kitchen stations, maintaining a clean and well-organized section throughout service.?
Operational Oversight
Support daily kitchen operations, including portioning, plating, and timely preparation of menu items.?
Monitor stock movement and participate in inventory management to minimize wastage and control costs.?
Follow all kitchen safety, HACCP standards, and hygiene protocols, ensuring compliance throughout food production.?
Teamwork and Section Support
Work collaboratively within a multicultural kitchen brigade, supporting other sections when required and maintaining open communication with senior chefs.?
Attend daily briefings, training sessions, and maintain high standards of personal grooming as per company policy.?
Quality Control and Standards
Conduct daily checks for food labeling, dating, temperature logs, and proper storage, ensuring full adherence to kitchen SOPs and regulatory requirements.?
Suggest improvements and actively implement feedback from superiors to enhance food quality.?
Take responsibility for cleanliness of equipment and working areas, promptly reporting hazards or defects.?
Qualifications and Skills
Experience: Minimum 1-2 years in a professional kitchen; prior exposure to Continental cuisine preferred.?
Education: Culinary diploma/certification or professional kitchen apprenticeship recommended.?
Technical Skills: Sound knowledge of Continental cooking methods, basic knife skills, and ability to follow recipes accurately.?
Teamwork: Strong collaboration skills and willingness to rotate sections as needed.?
Personal Attributes: Positive attitude, detail-oriented, punctual, adaptable, and able to work efficiently under pressure.?
