A Commis 1 is a junior but skilled chef who supports the senior chefs (CDP, Sous Chef, Head Chef) and can handle multiple sections of the kitchen when required. As an "all-rounder," the chef works in different areas like Indian, Continental, Tandoor.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare food items as per standard recipes and instructions from senior chefs
Handle basic cooking for multiple sections when needed
Assist in cutting, chopping, marinating, and pre-preparation
Maintain food quality, taste, and presentation standards
Follow hygiene and food safety rules (FSSAI standards)
Keep work station clean and organized
Support senior chefs during peak hours
Manage basic inventory and reduce food wastage
Ensure proper storage of raw and cooked food
Follow kitchen discipline and team coordination
