to support the kitchen team in daily food preparation and operations. This role is ideal for hotel management students or fresh culinary graduates who are eager to learn professional cooking techniques, kitchen discipline, and food safety standards in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Cooking
Assist chefs in basic food preparation including chopping, peeling, cutting, marinating, and portioning.
Prepare mise-en-place for various kitchen sections such as hot kitchen, cold kitchen, bakery, and pastry.
Support cooking activities under the guidance of senior chefs.
Assist in plating dishes as per restaurant presentation standards.
Kitchen Operations
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
Assist in receiving, storing, labeling, and rotating food supplies.
Follow standardized recipes and portion controls accurately.
Support buffet setups, live counters, and service during peak hours.
Hygiene & Safety
Follow food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP).
Ensure proper use of uniforms, PPE, and safe handling of kitchen tools.
Practice waste segregation and contribute to minimizing food wastage.
Learning & Development
Participate in on-the-job training and culinary workshops.
Observe and learn from senior chefs to understand kitchen workflow and operations.
Gain exposure across multiple kitchen sections to build all-round culinary skills.
Qualifications & Requirements
Hotel Management student, Culinary graduate, or Diploma holder.
Prior kitchen internship is an advantage but not mandatory.
Willingness to learn, good attitude, and ability to work in a team.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
