The South Indian Chef will be responsible for preparing a wide variety of dishes that reflect the diverse culinary traditions of South India. The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge and experience in cooking South Indian cuisine, including regional specialties from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. The chef will also contribute to menu development, maintain high standards of food safety and cleanliness, and ensure a memorable dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:



Food Preparation and Cooking:

Prepare, cook, and present high-quality South Indian dishes, including but not limited to dosa, idli, sambar, rasam, biryani, curries, and various chutneys.

Menu Development:

Collaborate with the culinary team to design and update the menu, incorporating seasonal ingredients and new South Indian culinary trends.

Ingredient Management:

Select, order, and manage ingredients, ensuring freshness and authenticity. Work closely with suppliers to procure quality spices, herbs, and produce.

Kitchen Management:

Oversee kitchen operations, including inventory management, portion control, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Staff Training:

Train and mentor kitchen staff on South Indian cooking techniques and recipes. Foster a team-oriented environment.

Quality Control:

Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and consistency.

Health and Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all health and safety regulations, maintaining strict hygiene standards in the kitchen.

Customer Interaction:

Occasionally engage with guests to gather feedback and enhance their dining experience.

Innovation and Creativity:

Continuously explore new culinary techniques and trends to keep the menu exciting and appealing.

Qualifications:



Experience:

Proven experience as a South Indian Chef or in a similar role, with a deep understanding of South Indian cuisine.

Culinary Skills:

Expertise in traditional South Indian cooking techniques and ingredients. Ability to prepare a wide range of South Indian dishes.

Education:

Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred, but not mandatory if offset by experience.

Knowledge:

Familiarity with regional variations in South Indian cuisine. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.

Creativity:

Strong creativity and passion for developing new dishes and enhancing traditional recipes.

Communication:

Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team.

Physical Stamina:

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.

Attention to Detail:

Strong attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.

Language:

Proficiency in English is preferred. Knowledge of South Indian languages is a plus.
