to join our culinary team. As a Commis Chef, you will assist senior chefs in preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes while learning and developing your culinary skills. You'll be expected to follow kitchen procedures, maintain hygiene standards, and ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in
food preparation and basic cooking
under the supervision of senior chefs.
Measure, weigh, and mix ingredients accurately.
Ensure that dishes are prepared and presented according to company standards.
Maintain
high hygiene and safety standards
in the kitchen at all times.
Clean and sanitize workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
Assist with stock rotation, labeling, and storage of ingredients.
Follow recipes and instructions while maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.
Support senior chefs during
peak service hours
.
Learn and improve cooking techniques, knife skills, and kitchen operations.
Adhere to
health & safety regulations
and company policies.
Skills & Qualifications
Basic culinary knowledge and passion for cooking.
Prior kitchen experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
Ability to work in a
fast-paced environment
under pressure.
Good
teamwork
and communication skills.
Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays if required.
Education & Experience
Preferred:
Diploma / Certificate in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management.
Experience:
0-1 year in a similar role (freshers with culinary training are welcome).
