We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Commis specializing in Asian Cuisine to join our culinary team in Chennai, India. As a Commis, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations and contributing to the preparation of authentic Asian dishes.
Assist in the preparation of ingredients for Asian dishes, including washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring
Support senior chefs in cooking and plating various Asian cuisine specialties
Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
Operate and maintain kitchen equipment properly
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow during service
Learn and apply various Asian cooking techniques under the guidance of experienced chefs
Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
Contribute to menu development by suggesting ideas for new dishes or improvements to existing recipes
Participate in daily kitchen briefings and training sessions to enhance culinary skills
Qualifications
Culinary diploma or equivalent preferred
Food safety certification required
Strong knife skills and proficiency in basic food preparation techniques
