The Commis III - Bakery assists in preparing and baking bread, pastries, and desserts as per the standard recipes and guidelines of the hotel/restaurant. Responsible for maintaining quality, hygiene, and consistency while supporting the senior chefs in daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparation and baking of bread, rolls, pastries, cakes, and other baked items.
Follow standard recipes, portion control, and presentation guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery section at all times.
Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients (FIFO method).
Support in daily mise-en-place and production as instructed by supervisors.
Handle equipment like mixers, ovens, and proofers safely and efficiently.
Adhere to hygiene, food safety, and HACCP standards.
Assist senior chefs during peak operations and learn new recipes/techniques.
Report shortages or maintenance issues to the Chef de Partie.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Diploma/Certification in Bakery & Confectionery or equivalent.
Minimum 0-1 year of experience in a bakery/pastry kitchen
Basic knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Flexible with shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Passionate about bakery and willing to learn and grow.
