Join our culinary team as a Commis 2 specializing in Tandoor Cuisine at our esteemed restaurant in Mysuru, India. We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient individual to assist in preparing authentic tandoor dishes while maintaining the highest standards of quality and taste.
Assist the Chef de Partie in preparing and cooking tandoor dishes, including naan, kebabs, and other traditional Indian specialties
Operate and maintain tandoor ovens, ensuring proper temperature control and cooking techniques
Prepare ingredients, including marinating meats and vegetables for tandoor cooking
Follow recipes and portion controls to minimize waste and maintain consistency
Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards in the kitchen
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service
Assist in inventory management and stock rotation of ingredients
Participate in kitchen cleaning and organization tasks
Support senior chefs in menu development and special event preparations
Qualifications
1-2 years of experience in Indian cuisine, preferably with tandoor cooking
Proficiency in tandoor cooking techniques and operation of tandoor ovens
Strong knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and flavor profiles
Excellent knife skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
Valid food safety certification
Culinary diploma or equivalent preferred
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and work in a hot kitchen environment
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
Passion for North Indian cuisine and commitment to culinary excellence
Additional Information
Prior experience working with Opera or a related system
Fluency in English
