We are seeking a talented and passionate Commis I (Asian) to join our culinary team in Ahmedabad, India. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will specialize in Asian cuisine, contributing to the creation of authentic and delicious dishes that delight our customers.
Prepare and cook a variety of Asian dishes, including appetizers, main courses, and desserts
Assist in the preparation of marinades, sauces, and spice blends for Asian specialties
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food preparation
Maintain and operate various Asian kitchen equipment and utensils
Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards in all aspects of food handling and preparation
Assist in inventory management and stock rotation for Asian cuisine ingredients
Contribute to menu development and suggest new Asian dishes
Maintain a clean and organized work station
Support other kitchen areas as needed during peak hours
Follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in dish preparation
Continuously improve culinary skills and knowledge of Asian cuisine
Qualifications
Proven experience (1-2 years) in a professional kitchen, with a focus on Asian cuisine
Strong knowledge of Asian cuisine, spices, and flavor profiles
Proficiency in various Asian cooking techniques
Excellent knife skills and food preparation abilities
Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, with current food safety certification
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Strong time management and organizational skills
Team player with excellent communication abilities
Culinary diploma or equivalent culinary education preferred
Familiarity with local ingredients and flavors of Ahmedabad, India
Knowledge of Asian kitchen equipment and utensils
Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency in dish preparation
Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and adjusting recipes
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and work in a hot kitchen environment
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
