We are seeking a talented and dedicated Commis 1 specializing in Continental Cuisine to join our culinary team in Mysuru, India. As a Commis 1, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations and contributing to the creation of exceptional continental dishes.
Assist in the preparation and cooking of continental cuisine dishes under the guidance of senior chefs
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
Properly handle, store, and rotate food ingredients and supplies
Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring proper use and cleanliness
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely food service
Assist in menu planning and the development of new dishes
Participate in inventory management and stock rotation
Follow recipes and cooking techniques as directed by senior chefs
Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the kitchen
Qualifications
Culinary diploma or equivalent qualification in the culinary arts
1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen setting, preferably with a focus on continental cuisine
Strong knife skills and proficiency in various food preparation techniques
In-depth knowledge of continental cuisine and basic cooking methods
Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Current food safety certification
Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Detail-oriented approach to food preparation and presentation
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary
Willingness to learn and adapt to new culinary techniques and trends
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays

Prior experience working with Opera or a related system
