Commie 1 - Indian Cuisine is responsible for preparing and cooking authentic Indian dishes, ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and presentation. The role supports the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations while maintaining hygiene and food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook Indian curries, gravies, breads, rice, and tandoor items.
Assist in menu preparation and ensure timely service of all dishes.
Maintain proper mise-en-place for the Indian section.
Follow recipes and presentation standards as guided by senior chefs.
Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety in the kitchen.
Monitor stock levels and report shortages.
Train and support junior kitchen staff when required.
Requirements:
Proven experience as Commi 1 or in a similar role within Indian cuisine.
Strong knowledge of Indian spices, cooking methods, and regional dishes.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Knowledge of HACCP and food hygiene practices.
