Job Summary:
Apple Tree Hotel and Resort is seeking a talented and motivated
Commis I Chef specializing in Indian Cuisine
to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in traditional Indian cooking and a deep understanding of Indian spices, techniques, and presentation styles.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, cook, and present authentic Indian dishes in accordance with the restaurant's standards.
Assist senior chefs in daily kitchen operations including mise en place, cooking, and plating.
Follow recipes accurately and ensure consistency in quality, taste, and presentation.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen areas.
Comply with health and safety regulations and uphold HACCP standards.
Monitor inventory levels of Indian ingredients and report shortages promptly.
Support kitchen operations during high-volume periods and banqueting services.
Contribute to menu development and daily specials when required.
Participate in regular training and development initiatives.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience as Commis I or equivalent role with a focus on Indian cuisine.
Strong knowledge of Indian cooking techniques (e.g., tandoor, curry preparation, biryanis).
Basic understanding of food safety, kitchen hygiene, and sanitation standards.
Culinary diploma or certificate from a recognized institute is preferred.
Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
