Key responsibilities
Food preparation:
Chopping vegetables, preparing herbs, and getting other ingredients ready for service.
Cooking and execution:
Cooking basic menu items like eggs, pasta, and vegetables, and helping senior chefs with more complex dishes.
Station management:
Taking responsibility for a specific station, including managing stock and ensuring it's kept clean and organized.
Hygiene and safety:
Maintaining high standards of personal and kitchen hygiene, including proper food storage and waste disposal.
Learning and development:
Learning new techniques, recipes, and skills by working alongside more experienced chefs.
Assisting senior staff:
Helping the Chef de Partie (station chef) and Sous Chef with their duties and ensuring all stations are clean.
