Overview As a Commi Chef, you will be an integral part of the kitchen team, responsible for supporting the culinary operations by assisting in food preparation, cooking, and maintaining hygiene standards. This entry-level position offers an opportunity to learn and develop culinary skills under the guidance of experienced chefs. The Commi Chef plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the kitchen and the delivery of high-quality dishes to customers. Key Responsibilities Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, peeling, and marinating, as per the recipes provided by senior chefs. Follow standardized recipes and portion sizes to maintain consistency. Cooking: Execute basic cooking techniques under the guidance of senior chefs. Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food safety and quality. Station Maintenance: Keep workstations clean, organized, and well-stocked with ingredients. Assist in the setup and breakdown of cooking stations before and after service. Learning and Development: Actively participate in training sessions and on-the-job learning opportunities provided by senior chefs. Seek guidance to improve culinary techniques and expand knowledge of various cuisines. Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure a smooth workflow. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and maintain a positive working environment. Adherence to Standards: Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and sanitation practices. Comply with kitchen policies and procedures established by the Head Chef or senior management. Quality Control: Pay attention to detail in food presentation to maintain high-quality standards. Seek feedback from senior chefs and make adjustments as necessary. Assistance in Menu Execution: Support senior chefs in executing menu items during peak service hours. Learn and apply techniques to contribute to the overall success of the kitchen. Requirements Culinary education or relevant experience in a similar role.
