We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Commis II - Tandoor to support the culinary team in preparing and presenting authentic and high-quality tandoori dishes for both a la carte and banquet operations. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Tandoor cooking and the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparation and cooking of tandoori items (naan, roti, kebabs, tikkas, etc.) as per standard recipes.
Operate and maintain the tandoor oven safely and efficiently.
Ensure mise-en-place is ready for service, especially for banquet events and buffets.
Maintain hygiene and food safety standards in the tandoor section at all times.
Support the CDP and Sous Chef during banquet setups and bulk preparations.
Ensure timely preparation and presentation of food during events, keeping quality and taste consistent.
Store raw and cooked food properly and label items as per hotel standards.
Assist in receiving and checking quality of raw materials.
Maintain cleanliness of the tandoor station and equipment after each use.
Work as a team member and assist in other kitchen sections when required.
Requirements:
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Tandoor section, preferably in hotel or banquet kitchens.
Basic culinary training or diploma from a recognized institute preferred.
Familiarity with traditional Indian tandoori recipes and techniques.
Ability to work under pressure and in shifts, including weekends and events.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
