The Commis 2 is responsible for assisting in the food preparation process, ensuring food quality and hygiene standards are maintained at all times. This role supports senior chefs in basic cooking tasks and kitchen operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing ingredients and basic cooking under the supervision of senior chefs.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
Follow recipes and presentation specifications as directed.
Properly store and label food items to prevent contamination.
Ensure that food is prepared in a timely manner.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen equipment.
Assist in receiving and storing deliveries appropriately.
Comply with health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
Support the Chef de Partie and other team members in daily operations.
Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role (preferred).
Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene.
Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team.
Willingness to learn and grow within the culinary team.
Physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Educational qualification in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management (preferred but not mandatory).
Additional Information:
Shifts may include weekends, holidays, and evenings.
Uniform and meals may be provided by the employer.
