Job Title: Commis I - Continental Section

Department: Kitchen

Reports To: Chef de Partie / Sous Chef

Location: Popes- Gurgaon

Job Summary

The Commis I - Continental Section is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality Continental cuisine in accordance with established recipes, standards, and hygiene practices. The role supports senior kitchen staff in daily operations while ensuring consistency, efficiency, and food safety.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook Continental dishes (soups, sauces, grills, pastas, steaks, sandwiches, etc.) as per standard recipes Assist the Chef de Partie in mise-en-place and service operations Ensure proper portion control and minimal wastage Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the workstation in line with FSSAI/HACCP standards Follow food safety, storage, and labeling procedures Assist in receiving and checking raw materials for quality and freshness Ensure correct use and maintenance of kitchen equipment Support junior staff (Commis II/III) when required Adhere to kitchen SOPs, timelines, and quality standards Participate in menu trials and new dish development when required
Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of Continental cuisine and cooking techniques Good understanding of sauces, stocks, grills, and plating Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Team player with good communication skills Time management and attention to detail Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
Qualifications & Experience

Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts / Hotel Management preferred 2-4 years of experience as Commis I or equivalent role in Continental kitchen Experience in hotel, casual dining, or fine dining setup
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for long hours Capable of working in hot kitchen conditions Flexible to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays

Pay: ?19,000.00 - ?24,000.00 per month
