Job Title : Commi 1 - Continental



Department : Production / Kitchen



Reports To: Sous Chef



Location: Khaleez Restaurant ,Tirur

To assist in the preparation and production of Continental dishes by following standard recipes, maintaining quality and hygiene standards, and supporting senior chefs to ensure smooth kitchen operations in a multi-cuisine restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:



Food Preparation & Production



Prepare Continental food items such as soups, sauces, grills, pasta, and starters as instructed by senior chefs. Assist in daily mise-en-place and ensure readiness for service. Follow standard recipes, portion control, and presentation guidelines

Kitchen Operations Support



Support CDP and Sous Chef during service for timely food dispatch. Ensure work station is organized, clean, and service-ready. Assist in handling kitchen equipment properly.

Quality & Consistency



Maintain consistency in taste, texture, and presentation of dishes. Report any quality issues to senior chefs immediately. Ensure freshness of ingredients used.

Hygiene & Food Safety



Follow FSSAI, HACCP, and company hygiene standards strictly. Maintain cleanliness of work area, utensils, and equipment. Ensure proper storage, labeling, and FIFO practices.

Teamwork & Learning



Work closely with kitchen team and support other sections when required. Learn new techniques and recipes under guidance of senior chefs. Follow instructions and maintain discipline in the kitchen.

Inventory & Wastage Control



Assist in minimizing food wastage. Report stock shortages and assist in daily stock checks. Use raw materials efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS



Education:

Diploma / Certification in Culinary Arts or Continental Cuisine

Experience:

2-4 years as Commis II / relevant kitchen experience

Preferred:

Experience in multi-cuisine or high-volume restaurants

Technical Competencies
