Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Commis 1 Chef specializing in South Indian cuisine to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience preparing traditional dishes such as dosa, idli, vada, sambar, rasam, and various regional specialties. You will support the kitchen in delivering authentic flavors while maintaining high standards of hygiene, consistency, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook South Indian dishes as per standardized recipes and presentation guidelines

Assist in mise en place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service

Ensure freshness and quality of ingredients used in daily preparations

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation and kitchen equipment

Follow food safety and hygiene standards as per company and regulatory guidelines

Collaborate with senior chefs to innovate and refine menu offerings

Monitor portion control and minimize food wastage

Support inventory management and stock rotation

Uphold kitchen discipline and contribute to a positive team environment

Requirements:

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in South Indian cuisine

Knowledge of regional cooking techniques and ingredients (e.g., tempering, steaming, grinding)

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen

Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety protocols

Team player with good communication and time management skills

Culinary diploma or certification preferred but not mandatory
