Commercial Truck Insurance Manager

Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage a portfolio of

commercial truck insurance

clients, including owner-operators, small fleets, and logistics companies. Assess client needs and tailor coverage options such as

primary liability, physical damage, cargo, and general liability

. Prepare and present competitive quotes from multiple carriers. Negotiate pricing and terms with underwriters to secure the best value for clients. Maintain compliance with

FMCSA

and state insurance regulations. Build long-term relationships with trucking business owners, dispatchers, and fleet managers. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth policy issuance, renewals, and claims support.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience

in commercial truck or transportation insurance (agency, broker, or underwriting background preferred). Active

Property & Casualty (P&C) license

in at least one U.S. state (multi-state licensing a plus). Strong understanding of trucking coverages, DOT/FMSCA requirements, and insurance carriers in the trucking market. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales or retention goals. Excellent communication, negotiation, and client service skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple client accounts. Experience with AMS/CRM systems and comparative rating tools a plus.
