About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented

Commercial Underwriter

with a background in

General Insurance

and at least

2 years of relevant experience

. The role involves underwriting, evaluating, and analyzing commercial risks across multiple insurance lines to support our broking operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess, evaluate, and underwrite

commercial insurance proposals

(Property, Marine, Liability, Engineering, Motor Fleet, etc.) in line with company and insurer guidelines. Analyze client portfolios and prepare

risk presentations

for insurance companies. Collaborate with insurance companies to obtain

competitive terms, quotes, and policy structures

. Support the

Business Development and Sales team

in structuring tailored solutions for corporate and SME clients. Review policy wordings, terms & conditions, and ensure compliance with regulatory (IRDAI) guidelines. Assist in claims analysis, renewal reviews, and portfolio monitoring. Maintain strong relationships with insurers, underwriters, and internal teams. Contribute to

MIS reports, documentation, and underwriting support

for management review.

Requirements:

Education:

Graduate / Postgraduate (Commerce, Finance, Insurance specialization preferred).

Experience:

Minimum

2 years of experience

in General Insurance underwriting, preferably in a broking or insurance company environment.

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of

General Insurance products

(Commercial Lines). Ability to interpret risk assessments, policy terms, and underwriting guidelines. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Soft Skills:

Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.
