Identify and generate new commercial leads (businesses, institutions, hospitals, etc.) through research, networking, field visits, referrals.
Understand client needs in terms of energy usage, roof/space characteristics, subsidies (MNRE etc.), and constraints.
Work with technical/design team to prepare accurate proposals and quotations (solar panels/inverters/structure etc.), including cost estimates, performance calculations etc.
Negotiate pricing, terms, contracts, ensuring commercial viability and margin targets.
Follow-up with clients, address objections, close deals.
Coordinate with internal teams (installation, operations, maintenance) to ensure projects are delivered on time and quality expectations are met.
Maintain regular communication with existing commercial clients for service, maintenance (AMC), upgrades or expansions.
Track and report sales pipeline, forecasts, results vs targets.
Monitor competitor offers and market trends (solar policies, new technologies, component costs etc.), and suggest pricing or product improvements.
Ensure customer satisfaction post-installation, handle complaints or requests, ensure warranty and AMC commitments are met.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree -- Business, Sales/Marketing, Engineering or related field.
Prior experience (2?5 years, or relevant) in B2B / commercial sales--preferably in solar/renewable energy or related technical fields. Freshers may be considered if strong aptitude and willingness to learn.
Strong communication & negotiation skills. Good understanding of technical concepts in solar PV (if not full design, at least ability to understand panels, inverters, efficiencies, structure etc.).
Ability to do site visits: assess physical and technical feasibility.
Comfortable preparing technical proposals & quotations.
Customer?centric: good at relationship building and after?sales follow?up.
Analytical mindset: capable of tracking metrics, understanding margin, ROI, payback etc.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Fluent in English and Malayalam (local languages) preferred.
Preferred / Nice?to?Have
Experience with MNRE subsidy schemes and policies in Kerala.
Experience managing large commercial or institutional clients.
Familiarity with solar system performance monitoring, maintenance, AMC contracts.
Technical training or certification in solar energy (or renewable energy).
Ability to travel frequently (site visits etc.).
