Job Description

Responsibilities of a Commercial Head at a Plant:

1. Procurement & Material Management

Ensure timely procurement of non-production materials (consumables, services, MRO items). Coordinate with central procurement or vendors to manage local sourcing needs. Monitor inventory levels and control costs while avoiding shortages.

Cost Control & Budget Management

Prepare and monitor plant commercial budgets. Track expenses against budgets and implement cost-saving measures. Work with finance to ensure accurate cost accounting and reporting.

Logistics & Dispatch Support

Oversee logistics for inbound and outbound materials. Ensure documentation (e.g., e-way bills, challans) is in order for dispatches.

Coordination with Plant Functions

Collaborate with production, stores, maintenance, and admin teams for material and service needs. Support project or shutdown work with timely procurement and services.

7. Asset & Facility Management

Oversee fixed asset tracking and insurance at the plant level. Manage utilities, infrastructure maintenance contracts, and plant facilities.
